Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) and Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) have announced to reduce the lending interest rates to 14.5% and 15.5% per year respectively for certain clients.

The rate of 14.5% at Vietcombank is applied for exporters making payments through Vietcombank while Vietinbank applies the rate of 15.5% for international trade finance programs.

Besides, firms operating in the supporting industries, production, export and agriculture sectors can enjoy 15% in interest rate at Vietcombank, and 14.5% is offered for clients in those sectors in HCMC.

Meanwhile, Vietinbank offers the rate of 16.5% for corporate clients in general, 16% for agricultural firms and ones active in the supporting industries and 15.8% for exporters.

Previously, Vietcombank lowered the interest rate to 16-17% for short-term loans.
