Vietnam Airlines raises domestic fares

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced it will increase airfares on domestic flights from January 1, 2010. Airfares of economy class will be raised by between VND14,000 (76 U.S. cents) and VND81,000 ($4.4) as Vietnam Airlines imposes the value added tax of 10 percent instead of five percent as present. As a result, a number of travel firms have also announced to raise their tour fees...

HAGL begins work on hydropower plants in Thanh Hoa

HCMC – Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) Group on Tuesday broke ground for Ba Thuoc hydropower plants 1 and 2 in the northern province of Thanh Hoa, with a total cost of VND2.4 trillion, or almost US$130 million.
